Nokka-akseli on tärkeä osa moottoria, ja siksi sitä tutkitaan hyvin tarkkaan moottorin virityksen yhteydessä. Nokka-akseli määrittää, millä alueella saavutetaan suurin vääntömomentti ja mihin nopeusalueeseen asti tehoa voidaan lisätä. Laajan valikoiman ansiosta löytyy jokaiseen moottorin säätötyyppiin sopiva nokka-akseli.
Kaikki nokka-akselit toimitetaan ilman nokka-akselin hammaspyörää, joka on aina tilattava erikseen (tyypin 4 moottoreiden nokka-akselit toimitetaan kiinnitystarvikkeiden kanssa). Kunkin nokka-akselin kohdalla ilmoitetaan valmistajan käyttämät tekniset tiedot, merkki ja tyyppimerkintä.
Uutta nokka-akselia asennettaessa on erittäin tärkeää asentaa uudet, valmistajan suosittelemat nostimet. Jos ei voida todistaa, että valmistajan suosittelemia nostimia on käytetty, takuu ei ole mahdollinen, tilaa ne aina uuden nokka-akselin yhteydessä (ks. välilehti Vaihtoehdot).
Huomautus: Tyypin 1, tyypin 3 ja CT/CZ-moottoreiden nokka-akseleissa on käytettävä tyypin 1 öljypumppua 7/1971 asti ja sitä myöten, joka on tunnistettavissa 46-47 mm:n asennussyvyydestä. Tarkista ja lisää tarvittaessa valitsemasi pumppu (katso Options-välilehti).
