Product description
Rust, loss or deformation are the most common reasons for replacing the oil dipstick.
This oil dipstick is identical to the original, but fully chrome-plated instead of having the original galvanized finish. If you prefer the original galvanized version, a black-coated version or a Billet version, please see the Alternatives tab.
For a better seal than the original design, we recommend ordering an oil dipstick grommet as an option. This grommet was originally fitted only to Type 4 engines, but it also works very well on Type 1 engines. The grommet keeps the oil in and dirt out much better than the small piece of cloth fitted in the recess of the original Type 1 dipstick.
