Product description
Originally, this sealing rubber was developed for the oil dipstick on Type 4 engines. It provides a good seal around the dipstick and helps prevent dirt and other contaminants from entering the engine through the dipstick opening.
What many people do not know is that this sealing rubber also works very well on a Type 1 engine. It fits around the original dipstick and provides a much better seal.
Unfortunately, Volkswagen did not fit this rubber seal as standard on Type 1 engines. The original Type 1 dipstick uses a felt seal. By fitting this rubber in addition, the dipstick opening is sealed more effectively, helping to keep the oil inside and dirt outside. A simple improvement that would benefit virtually every Type 1 engine.
