Product description
This Billet oil dipstick is based on the original chrome-plated version, but the original eyelet used to pull the dipstick out of the crankcase has been replaced by a machined aluminium handle. This gives the dipstick a more refined appearance and allows it to match nicely with other aluminium parts in the engine compartment.
If you prefer a fully original version with the standard galvanized finish, a chrome-plated version or a version with a black coating, please see the Alternatives tab.
For a better seal than the original design, we recommend ordering an oil dipstick grommet as an option. This grommet was originally fitted only to Type 4 engines, but it also works very well on Type 1 engines. The grommet keeps the oil in and dirt out much better than the small piece of cloth fitted in the recess of the original Type 1 dipstick.
