Give your Type 1 engine a serious upgrade with this high-performance shroud, specially designed to significantly improve cooling without compromising the original appearance of the engine compartment. Instead of the standard Type 1 5-plate oil cooler, this shroud uses the Type 4 7-plate oil cooler, which ensures more efficient heat dissipation and greater reliability, particularly under heavier loads.
The shroud comes with a two-piece oil cooler cover and longer threaded studs for correct mounting of the Type 4 oil cooler on the original Type 1 oil cooler bracket. The internal air guides are precisely reproduced to VW's original design, ensuring optimum cooling air distribution. In addition, the shroud is equipped with an air guide ring that further optimizes air flow to the oil cooler and cylinders.
This solution is ideal for those who want their engine to run cooler and more reliably, without using an external oil cooler, for example.
Shrouds are available with or without heating, and come with a durable black powder coating.
Note: Don't forget to also order the Type 4 oil cooler and, if necessary, the gaskets for the oil cooler lining in the front panel, as these are not supplied as standard. You'll find these parts under the "options" tab.
