VW Beetle, Karmann Ghia, Type 3 and VW Thing:
With these Volkswagen, it is a sleeve that is located just behind the gear lever in the tunnel, a worn guide sleeve can be recognized by the irritating clicking of the gear lever. Replacing this sleeve requires a little patience, the best thing to do is to remove the shift bar at the front of the car. Through the hole in the gearshift lever is possible, but you can't reach it easily.

Volkswagen Split Bus: The gear shift rod is guided at several points. For this purpose, a set is available for the construction years from 1957 with the different parts, some of which are also available separately (see tab replacement parts). You will not use the entire set because it covers several years and several models of VW Bus, this is explained in more detail below.

VW Bus up to 1957 (VIN 306 725) :
A metal bus is required for this, the remaining parts are indicated under the related parts tabs.

VW Bus from 1957 (VIN 306 726) until 1961 (VIN 835 087):
If you want to replace all the parts, you will need an additional umbrella-shaped bus in addition to the set (see tab replacement parts).

VW Bus from 1961 (VIN 835 088) to 7.1967:
If you want to replace all parts, you need two sets, of which you can only use one umbrella bus from the second set, this bus is not available separately.

VW Bay Window Bus:
The set is sufficient to replace all parts, the front bushing for years from 8.1973 is also available separately (see tab replacement parts).

VW Vanagon:
Here, the shift rods are more complex than in previous generations, the parts are not available in a set but are available separately, listed under the other models tab.
