These felt rings are used in the coupling between the front and intermediate shift rods of early VW Vanagon models.
They ensure a good seal and smooth operation of the shift rods. When the guide bush, on which these rings rest, is worn, the felt rings usually have to be replaced too. More often, however, the guide bush is still intact, while the felt rings are already worn.
To maintain the precision and reliability of gearshift transitions, these felt rings are essential. Our VW Vanagon requires two.
