Sylinterin päässä olevaa keinuvivun akselin tappia ei voi käyttää uudelleen, joten vaihto on ainoa oikea tapa.
Tyypin 4 moottoreissa ne ovat identtiset alkuperäisten kanssa, kun taas muissa moottoreissa ne on valmistettu kromimolybdeeniteräksestä.
Kromimolybdeeniteräs on tavallista terästä lujempaa, mikä on välttämätöntä kaksoisventtiilijousilla varustetuissa suorituskykyisissä sylinteripäissä. Mutta se on myös erittäin hyvä valinta alkuperäisiin sylinteripäihin - miksi käyttää alkuperäistä, jos voi käyttää laadukkaampia osia.
Tyypin 4 moottoreissa on tärkeää käyttää oikeita M7-muttereita, joiden kovuusluokka on 10, muissa moottoreissa käytetään tavallisia M8-muttereita. Tilaa tarvittaessa lisämuttereita ja -aluslevyjä, jotka on lueteltu välilehdellä "lisävarusteet"
