Product description
If you are going to manufacture a 1600 cc based on a 1300 cc engine, you must replace the cylinders and pistons and machine the cylinder heads (or install new ones), but also make sure to replace the flywheel for a 200 mm version.
If you continue to drive with the old 180 mm flywheel, you will need to regularly replace the clutch disc, as it is not designed for higher power. Therefore, be careful and mount directly a 200 mm flywheel with 130 teeth, this is commonly called a 12 volts flywheel.
The name 200 mm comes from the diameter of the clutch disc to be used and not from the diameter of the flywheel itself. It may therefore be obvious that you must also use a clutch disc and a 200 mm pressure unit (see the Options tab).
The flywheel must not be mounted without measuring the axial clearance of the crankshaft, a correct adjustment is very important to avoid damaging the bearing. The axial clearance must be between 0.07 and 0.13 mm (it can be measured with a dial indicator). The clearance is adjusted with adjusting rings behind the flywheel, never more than 3 rings can be used, so they are also available in different thicknesses (see the Related parts tab).
In addition to this standard flywheel, it is also available in a lighter version, which helps to increase the power of tuned engines operating at higher rpm (see Alternatives tab).
Note :
Before mounting, check that the dowel pins do not have too much play, too much play can cause the flywheel to loosen, which can cause enormous damage. Use with this new flywheel only a crankshaft seal without an additional crankshaft lip, references #01639 or #01640 are best suited for this, if a seal with an additional retaining lip is used, it will irrevocably lead to a leak. The indentation of the seal starts earlier than the original, which makes the connection stronger, but has the disadvantage that the diameter is increased where the additional lip has to do its job and will break.
