Product description
In order to allow a smooth and quiet gear change with as little play as possible, the gearshift lever of the 4-speed models is equipped with a Teflon housing. On 5-speed models, this applies in the same way but on the underside of the gear lever.
If these Teflon drivers were worn out, the gearshift bar or gearshift lever would have to be replaced, as these parts were never available separately from Volkswagen.
With this repair guide, your existing gear or shift lever will be equipped with new guides. What would become an expensive repair is now solved very inexpensively with an equal end result.
