If you have an oil pump with a higher flow rate, the oil pressure piston(s) must also be adapted. This assembly replaces the original spring and piston at the bottom of the engine block (large slotted bolts), and increases oil pressure for better bearing lubrication and oil cooler operation.
Until 7/1969 there is only one slotted bolt, after which there are two. For older engines you use the long spring and the "mushroom" shaped piston.
Caution! The piston must slide without friction in the crankcase, if this is not the case, you will have to finish the piston with fine sandpaper. If the piston jams, this can have serious consequences on the oil pressure in the crankcase. The oil pressure relief assembly with two oil pressure pistons consists of the long spring with the "mushroom" shaped piston on the pulley side and the short spring with the normal piston on the flywheel side. To remove the piston from the crankcase without damaging it, you can get a special tool for this purpose, it is advisable to order it directly (mentioned in the "Options" tab).
