With this kit, the power supply to the electric fuel pump is automatically cut off as soon as the engine stops while the ignition is still switched on. Without such a relay, the fuel pump will continue to run when the engine has stalled, which can lead to a fire hazard in the event of an accident.

In addition, this kit protects the fuel pump against damage, such as overheating, which may occur when the engine stops while the ignition remains on.

As most classic Volkswagens are not equipped with an accessory position, this alone is a good reason to install a safety relay in combination with an electric fuel pump.

The relay is also available separately and can be found under the “replacement parts” tab. This kit is supplied including an inline fuse, mounting base, necessary wiring, and connection materials.

Note: The operation of this relay can only be tested when it is installed in the vehicle, or in a test setup that simulates the complete ignition system.
