Product description
The original glove box is made of pressed cardboard, which is not the highest quality solution. The cardboard will lose a lot of firmness after a few years.
If the trunk lid lock is attached to the glove box, you will not be the first to use the cutting tool to open the trunk, after tearing the entire handle that is attached to the glove box. Volkswagen only solved this problem in 1983, from that time on, the glove boxes were made of plastic, so this product is the original replacement.
If you want to get rid of the original cardboard, this plastic glove box is a good option. If you prefer to keep the original as much as possible, there are also glove boxes made of fibrous composite material for the most common years of construction and VW models. These have the appearance of the original but are much more resistant than old-fashioned cardboard.
