Volkswagen Buses designed for passenger transport were fitted with vent windows to provide the passengers with additional ventilation when the outside temperature rises. On the more basic models, the frame around the vent window is painted black, while the more luxurious models have a chrome-plated frame.
Vent windows were also fitted to pick-ups with an extended cab, also known as a double cab or crew cab. Originally, these were only available in the standard version with a black-painted frame, without chrome.
You can restore the existing vent window and replace all worn or damaged parts. Bear in mind that the total cost may be higher than that of a complete new unit that can be installed immediately. If convenience is your priority, a new vent window is the most practical option. If originality is more important, you can restore the original unit, even though this may ultimately be more expensive.
This vent window with chrome-plated frame is supplied ready for installation. The rubber seal used to install the vent window in the body may need to be ordered separately and is listed under the “Options” tab.
