Product description
The spare wheel tray of the VW1200, VW1300 and VW500 is often so rusty that it is pierced with holes. If this is still possible, you can replace the individual sheet metal parts, but in many cases it is much easier to use the complete spare wheel compartment. The individual sheet metal parts are listed under the replacement parts tab.
For the Volkswagen Beetle 1302 and 1303 there are no sheet metal parts available, the spare wheel compartment is available in one piece.
For European Beetles up to July 1967, the holes in the front apron above the bumper support slots must be plugged, these holes are for the additional bumper support tubes on the American versions.
Note: The complete spare wheel compartments for the VW1200, VW1300 and VW1500 are produced in Brazil at the lowest possible price, which does not always result in high quality welding. This is a cheap solution, but if you want perfection, restore your existing spare wheel box with the separately available parts (mentioned on the replacement parts tab) where you can also choose from different qualities. Much more expensive than this complete spare wheel compartment, but you will see it in the final result.
