Product description
If you notice that the engine revs but the car is slow to start, the clutch plate is starting to slip. It could be that the clutch is poorly adjusted. If this is not the case, then the clutch plate is worn out. Replace the clutch plate in time and do not wait until the car does not move forward at all, the chance of damaging the flywheel is very high. It is advisable to replace the clutch disc and the thrust bearing at the same time, as the engine has to be disassembled, a job you do not want to do twice in a row.
All clutch plates are of a very high quality and equipped with springs for optimal clutch comfort. Older cars did not have these springs, but can be fitted with a clutch plate with springs without any problems.
The size indicated is the diameter of the clutch plate, check this before ordering. It may be that your flywheel or complete engine was once replaced with a different type, by measuring the clutch plate you can be sure you are ordering the correct one. Use only the recommended assembly grease for proper and long-lasting lubrication between the clutch plate and primary shaft (also ensures smooth assembly), the top bearing in the flywheel bolt and the places where the thrust bearing is clamped to the clutch fork. Assembly grease is heat-resistant, ensuring long-lasting lubrication. If you use Universal Lithium grease, it will liquefy at increasing temperatures during clutching which can contaminate the clutch plate, do not take any risk and order the recommended assembly grease immediately (optional).
Before mounting the clutch plate use a straightener to align the clutch plate in relation to the crankshaft, without this straightening tool putting your engine back in place will be a very tedious and lengthy job.
Note : not all clutch plates are available separately, if this is the case it can only be purchased in a complete set; clutch plate, pressure plate and thrust bearing which is listed as "set" in the overview below.

Feramic clutch plates :
An original clutch plate quickly fails in off-road and racing activities, it cannot withstand the high heat development released by intensive use and burns as a result. Feramic clutch plates have been developed especially for these purposes. Feramic is a composite material, impregnated with a high-quality steel with great wear resistance and heat resistance, also the center of these clutch plates is extra reinforced. The size indicated is the diameter of the clutch plate.
#1505 : 200 mm
Pressure groups and thrust bearings :
Should you also plan to replace the pressure group and thrust bearing immediately (highly recommended), these are available for most engines both separately and in sets. A set consists of clutch disc, clutch plate and thrust bearing, for some engines only sets are available, then you have no choice in this as can be seen in the above overview.
Attention : when clicking on the separate clutch discs not only the standard version, but also the heavier variants are listed.
- thrust bearings : #1520 #1521 .
- loose thrust groups : #1507 #1508 #1509 #1512 #1516 #1517 #1518 #21550 #71546 .
