Product description
If your engine spontaneously stalls at every stoplight and you have to continuously operate the accelerator and brake pedal simultaneously to keep the engine running, chances are your carburetor is in need of a total overhaul. By this we don't mean just replacing a few gaskets, but addressing the cause at the source, i.e. fitting the throttle and air valve shaft with new bronze bushings. Since not many people can do this job themselves and it's going to be costly if you have a specialized company do it, buying a new carburetor is a lot cheaper and you'll own a factory new one.
These carburetors are only suitable for Type 1 engines that operate on 12 volts (conversion to 6 volts is of course possible). For each carburetor there is a detailed explanation below, with which you can make the right choice because then you know what the difference is with your old carburetor.
Paruzzi #5141 : H30/31 PICT
Comes with an assembled conversion adapter, with this it can also serve as a replacement for the 34 PICT-3 or 34 PICT-4 carburetor.
We recommend you to choose the right carburetor directly if you are looking for a replacement for the 34 PICT-3 or 34 PICT-4 and not to use this H30/31 with conversion adapter, due to the smaller diameter (31 instead of 34 mm) it costs unnecessarily much engine power. The adapter is mounted with two socket head bolts, unscrew them and reuse the threaded ends to mount the carburetor on the manifold.
Paruzzi #4425 : 34 PICT-3 for Mexican engines
This carburetor is intended for the later Mexican engines equipped with a vacuum system. This is a high quality reproduction often preferred over the Paruzzi #2142 where the underpressure system is removed.
Paruzzi #2142 : 34 PICT-3
This carburetor is made a bit more universal, so it can also be used on Mexican engines made after September 1977 (you will then have to transfer the vacuum system). It fits both cars with a direct current (DC) and alternating current (AC) alternator/alternator.
Note:
For all models and types of carburetors applies : only fill up with E5 gasoline (octane number 98) at most gas stations this gasoline is sold as premium fuel. When filling up with E10 gasoline (higher concentration of ethanol) rubber and plastic parts can soften, our classics are sensitive to this.
