Product description
When the VW T25 was introduced, most models were supplied with a non-locking fuel cap as standard. A locking fuel cap was available as an optional extra. Due to the increasing number of fuel thefts and acts of vandalism, Volkswagen later decided to equip all VW T25 models with a locking fuel cap as standard.
A fuel cap does not last forever. On most classic Volkswagens, the original fuel cap has probably been replaced at least once. This may have been because the original cap had become worn or damaged, or because the original non-locking cap was replaced with a locking version to better protect the fuel tank.
This fuel cap is a high-quality replacement for the original locking version and is supplied with two keys.
Note: On some early VW T25 models from the first production years, this fuel cap does not fit in combination with the original retaining ring. By replacing the retaining ring with the version listed under the Options tab, this fuel cap can still be fitted without any further modifications.
