Product description
During its production period, the Volkswagen Beetle was fitted with two types of trim: first in aluminum and, from the early 1970s, in plastic.
Aluminium mouldings consist of one or two pieces per window. They are fitted after the window rubber has been placed around the glass, but before the complete window with rubber is placed in the groove.
Plastic trims are fitted only after the window with the rubber has been placed in the frame. It's best to use a wrench for assembly. Important: use only glycerine as a lubricant. Other agents such as grease or soap suds will damage the rubber and cause cracks in the corners after a year.
Note: new Paruzzi window rubbers are identical to the original rubbers. The year of manufacture of your Beetle determines whether they are suitable for aluminum or plastic moldings. If the existing rubbers are not replaced, the same type of molding should always be fitted as the one already in place.
