Product description
Our convertible Beetle had two types of mouldings, the first ones were made of aluminium, then they were replaced by plastic mouldings in the early 70s.
Aluminium mouldings consist of one or two parts per window and must be mounted after the rubber has been pulled around the window, but before the window with the rubber installed has been placed in the body frame.
The plastic mouldings are only mounted after the windows with the rubber have been pushed into the bodywork. The easiest way to assemble the plastic mouldings is to use an extractor. During assembly, use only glycerin and no other lubricants such as grease, soapy water or any other substance, the rubber will be affected and within one year, cracks will appear in the corners.
These aluminum sets are supplied without molding clips; please add these separately (options tab).
Note: If you have purchased new Paruzzi rubbers, they are the same as the original, the year of manufacture indicates whether they are intended for aluminum or plastic mouldings. If your existing rubbers are not replaced, mount the moulding that was also there before.
