In the 60s, 70s and 80s, it was normal for cars to have small triangular windows that you could open on hot days without disturbing your passengers. This is not the case with a vent window and the annoying noise is also absent. The hot air is sucked out of the car while driving, which has a cooling effect.

Over the years, the rubbers that are fitted around the frame become hard and brittle, so there are very few Volkswagens that still have the rubber in new condition.
