The very first Volkswagen Beetles were equipped with a master cylinder on which the brake fluid reservoir was mounted directly. Later, the reservoir was moved to the trunk, making it easier to fill and check. With many Buggies and other derivatives of the VW Beetle, it is a problematic system, the probability that the supply lines become detached is high and finding a good location for the reservoir is not always easy either. Many Buggies are equipped with a master cylinder with a screwed-in reservoir, but this has its limitations, as there is no master cylinder with a fixed reservoir for a single circuit braking system. What we want is a master cylinder with a fixed reservoir for a single circuit braking system and this can be achieved with these conversion grommets.
You use the master cylinder of a dual-circuit brake system, you replace the grommets for these conversion grommets and you use the reservoir of a Volkswagen Bus with dual-circuit brake system that can be found in the years 8.1966 to 7.1967.
In addition to these conversion grommets, you will need a master cylinder and a reservoir, which can be found under the Options tab.
Note: The grommet is only suitable for new master cylinders (see options tab), older original master cylinders have a 15 mm mounting hole instead of the required 19 mm.
