Product description
"Albert" was an accessory manufacturer in the 1950s and 1960s. As the Volkswagen Beetle was very present in the streets at the time, most of the accessories were also available for that car. The "Swan Neck" mirrors, mounted on the front of the chrome moulding, were the most original type of accessory of that period. The largest market for these mirrors at the time was the Scandinavian countries. If you can find them in good condition, bring a full wallet, they are extremely expensive. But for those who can't find the original or are looking for an affordable Albert mirror, here is the reproduction that is identical to the original.
The swan neck mirrors are partly mounted on the first part of the moulding, so they only fit when using wide mouldings as was originally the case with Beetles up to and including 7/1966.
You must drill a hole to fix the mirror and the mirror rests on the moulding and keeps it straight.
The glass is mounted on a spring, which should eliminate vibrations while driving, but in practice this is not very effective. An Albert swan neck mirror is used for its classic appearance and embellishment and not so much for more comfort, although it makes your blind spot much smaller.
