Product description
If your engine has been fitted with a long-stroke crankshaft, if your compression ratio has been modified or if the cylinders have been machined, the original pushrods may no longer be usable in terms of length.
The solution to this problem lies in so-called "blank end" pushrods, made from chrome molybdenum, which make them stronger than the original rods.
Cutting to length is a simple but precise job. Use a tube cutter and the special cut-to-length tool (see "Options" tab). Make sure that you push the cups in perfectly straight, because if you push them in crookedly, you'll damage the pushrod, which will sooner or later cause the cup to come loose, resulting in damage to the motor.
The Manton chrome-moly pushrod sets offer a reliable solution for both stock and heavily modified engines, where wall thickness determines the load for which the pushrods are best suited. The ends are resistant to any form of engine tuning, whether your cylinder heads are equipped with dual valve springs, 1.25:1 or 1.40:1 rocker arms with adjustment at the pushrod, or modified cam followers. These Heavy Duty pushrods are the choice of professional engine builders who leave nothing to chance.
Thick-wall
For engines where no compromises are made. The thick-wall Manton pushrods are designed for very heavy valvetrains, high valve spring pressures, aggressive camshafts, and applications with high RPM or power output. Increased stiffness ensures accurate timing and valve operation even under extreme load. The ideal choice for high-performance, turbo, and race engines.
Thin-wall
The perfect choice for stock engines and light to moderate tuning. The reduced weight lowers reciprocating mass in the valvetrain while maintaining the renowned Manton quality. Suitable for street engines, mild performance builds, and applications with standard valve spring pressure, where an optimal balance between weight, performance, and durability is desired.
Note: Never repair bent pushrods, as they will become bent again in the foreseeable future.
