Product description
Tightening and loosening studs without damaging them is a challenge for many. Tightening two nuts together and using the lower nut to unscrew the stud remains the safest method.
The studs mentioned here have been used by Volkswagen in many places. They have the right hardness and length, or correspond in every respect to the original studs. So don't fit studs that don't meet Volkswagen's specifications, as this could cost you dearly.
The following is a list of uses for these studs:
- exhaust on the cylinder head of all air- and water-cooled boxer engines
- alternator/breather support on the crankcase of Type 1 and Type 3 engines
- oil cooler support on crankcase of Type 1 and Type 3 engines
- oil filler pipe on Type 1 replacement crankcases (modification 1/12/1971)
- cooling housing/fan shroud on Type 4 engines
- differential shuttle shaft side covers on two-piece gearboxes
- intake manifold on Type 1 fuel-injected engines up to 1980, and on Type 3 engines
- clutch cable on Bay Window gearboxes
