You should know that often a broken spring is only discovered during the technical inspection and the owner has never noticed it.
If you hear a squeaking and/or ticking sound when your VW moves on its suspension, check your springs. It is possible that the spring mount is rotten or that you are dealing with a broken spring.
If you have to replace your shocks and the springs are uneven or extremely rusty, replace them at the same time. While everything is taken apart, it's a small job.
Lowered springs: Whileremoving the springs, you can also consider lowering your car, which not only gives it a sporty look, but also greatly improves its handling. If a set of lowered springs is available for your VW model, it is mentioned under the alternatives tab
