Product description
The coil springs on Volkswagen Beetles 1302 and 1303 rest on the struts, and on the VW Vanagon they are located at the bottom on the wishbones and at the top against the body. To minimize lateral noise during compression and rebound, a damping ring is fitted between the spring and the spring plate.
This rubber ring follows the contours of the spring, which are also reflected in the spring plates, wishbones or bodywork, depending on the VW model. This prevents the spring from shifting and reduces wear. The damping ring also protects the spring's paintwork. If this lacquer is damaged, rust may appear, affecting the spring's function and service life in the long term.
Does your Volkswagen make lateral noises during compression or rebound? Then check whether the damping rings are still present. They may be missing or partially damaged.
