There is nothing more beautiful than the original, many will agree, who therefore do not think about fitting an alternative, however exclusive it may be. Especially for this group of original restorers we have included the original model handlebars in our assortment. Admittedly as a reproduction, but a reproduction of high quality, equal to the original.

The steering wheels for the Volkswagen Beetle, Karmann Ghia and VW Type 3 come with a chrome horn ring and assembly kit.

The VW Bus handlebars up to July 1967 are delivered bare, the horn cap must be purchased as an additional option, however, the handlebars after 1974 are delivered complete with horn cap.

Most handlebars are available in a few different colors, just like the original, Volkswagen has used these colors over the years. Additional options are available for most handlebars, which are listed separately. For steering wheels for the Beetle, Karmann Ghia Type 3 and VW Bus after 1974 there are also replacement parts, in case your old steering wheel is still in fine condition, but a certain part needs replacement.

Options for the VW Beetle, Karmann Ghia and Type 3

The turn signal unlock ring is not standard delivered with the steering wheel. If the old one is still usable, you can transfer it, a better option is to order this ring directly, then you can be sure that the whole works properly later. This ring has been used for a limited number of model years, so it may well be that your old steering wheel did not have this. The ivory handlebars are delivered without horn cover, take this extra (choice of three models). The horn bracket is included, but you may prefer a closed version (which was originally an accessory for the Type 3). Click on the part number for more information and an image.
