Product description
A V-belt is worn when it starts to show small cracks, but these are often not immediately visible. By slightly twisting the V-belt, any cracks can be detected more easily. Therefore, check both the condition of the V-belt and the correct tension during every maintenance service, refer to your workshop manual for details.
We recommend always carrying a spare V-belt with you, so you are not faced with unexpected issues on the road.
Nowadays, most V-belts are only available in a cogged version. These offer more flexibility and grip than a smooth V-belt. Cogged V-belts were introduced in the 1960s and 1970s, while classic Volkswagens from that period were originally equipped with smooth V-belts.
The smooth V-belt listed here is a classic model, allowing your Volkswagen to remain true to its original factory specifications. If you prefer a cogged V-belt, please check the “alternatives” tab.
The dimensions of the V-belt are given as width and outer circumference. The diameter of the crankshaft pulley is also specified. Always check these details carefully before ordering.
