Product description
Hammerhead bolts owe their name to the shape of their head. They are pushed into a recess or slot, where they not only provide space for fine adjustment, but also securely fasten once the nut has been tightened.
In our Volkswagens, hammerhead bolts are used to secure the bench seats in the passenger compartment. To do this, the bolt is pushed into the slots in the floor plate. In the case of the central bench, a mounting bracket follows, whereas this is not necessary in the case of the rear bench, as the bench itself is inserted directly. The benches are then secured using a clamp and nut or wing nut.
In practice, replacement is often necessary due to rust or because the hammer bolts are simply lost.
