One of the most important parts of the Volkswagen Beetle's bodywork are the heating channels. It is not only a body support piece, but also a means of transporting hot air from the rear of the car to the front of most Volkswagen Beetles.
These heating channels are available complete but also as spare parts, there are also a number of repair plates, look under the replacement parts tab.
The heating channels up to december 1946 do not have holes for heating and are therefore also good to use if you do not plan to install a heater for all construction years of the VW 1200, 1300 and 1500.
The heating channels from january 1947 to december 1953 have heating holes but do not have a continuous heating tube, this was only applied from january 1954 onwards to obtain better performance, these heating channels are also called "round heating channels" and are very popular with professional restorers.
Volkswagen Beetle convertibles have an extra reinforcement beam at the bottom of the heating channel to prevent the chassis from collapsing, as the convertible does not have the strength of a sedan roof construction. These reinforcements are under the related parts tab.
