Product description
From 8/1966, the Volkswagen Beetle and the Karmann Ghia were equipped with an auxiliary spring at the rear (commonly known as the rear stabilizer bar or torsion bar) to ensure better handling.
In order for the whole to do its job as well as possible, it is important that all parts are in good condition. In many cases the rubber parts have dried or worn out, which affects the operation and can even lead to rejection during the technical inspection.
To replace all wear sensitive parts at once, repair kits are available, as well as some spare parts if not everything needs to be replaced (mentioned on the "replacement parts" tab).
Repair kits contain most of the parts needed to restore your torsion bar to perfect condition. The set from 1966 to 1968 inclusive contains only rubber parts, while the set after 1968 also contains the metal rods, which are often much thinner due to wear. Some essential parts are missing from this set, take them as extras if necessary (mentioned under the options tab).
