Product description
The underside of the door is a well-known rusting point on all classic Volkswagens. The closer the door is to the ground, the more likely it is to rust and deteriorate, which is not the case with our Volkswagen Bus.
This repair part replaces the lower part of the door, near the entrance. For a perfect restoration, generously sand the affected area. If necessary, cut the repair part to size and weld the parts together. Drill the original spot welds where two metal parts overlap. Then spot-weld the new part back into place. If you don't have a spot-welding machine, drill small holes in one of the overlapping parts and fill them with welding material. This is how you simulate a spot weld.
Note: to prevent warping, keep the door damp during welding and weld in sections, never all at once.
