Product description
As standard, the cylinder head is mounted cold onto the cylinder, without a gasket or sealing material. On engines with a larger displacement, and usually a higher compression ratio, this can lead to leakage more quickly than on a standard engine. It is therefore also necessary to use shims to achieve the desired compression ratio.
By using these copper cylinder head rings, all irregularities between the cylinder head and the cylinder are compensated. This ensures a good and reliable seal. The ring also functions as a spacer shim.
Never use two rings stacked on top of each other in the cylinder head. If more than one ring is required, install one ring between the cylinder and the cylinder head and one ring between the crankcase and the cylinder. These rings are available in multiple thicknesses and are listed under the Options tab.
These copper shims are available in various thicknesses and for different cylinder head sizes. For each ring, the thickness and the outer diameter are specified. The outer diameter corresponds to the inner diameter of the cylinder head. It is also indicated which common cylinder bores the ring corresponds to.
It is possible to reuse these copper rings by heating them until red hot and then allowing them to cool slowly. Despite this possibility, we recommend replacing the rings and not reusing them.
