Product description
As standard, the cylinder head is mounted without gasket or sealing material, which can lead to leakage more quickly in larger displacement engines (usually with higher compression) than in a standard engine. It is also necessary to use shims to achieve the desired compression ratio.
By using these copper cylinder head rings, all irregularities between the cylinder head and the cylinder are filled in for a perfect seal. At the same time it serves as a ring to adjust the compression ratio.
Never use 2 rings on top of each other in the cylinder head, you will need more than one ring, fit more than one between the cylinder and the cylinder head and one between the crankcase and the cylinder, which are also available in several sizes (refer to the option tab).
These copper shims are available in different thicknesses and for different cylinder head sizes, the thickness and outer diameter of the ring (inner diameter of the cylinder head) are indicated, as well as the most common cylinder bore to which they correspond.
It is possible to reuse these copper rings by heating them to red and letting them cool slowly, however we advise you to replace them anyway and not to use them twice.
For the correct calculation of the compression ratio, we have an "engine calculator" under the technical info menu bar.
