Product description
From the outset, the speedometer was fitted with nightlights with integrated indicator lights. Later, additional lights were added for accessories that could be ordered as options. Wherever possible, the switches were fitted with lamps, so that it was not necessary to add a pilot light to ensure night-time illumination of the switch.
Different lamps have been used on the various Volkswagen models over the years, and the assembly is not always the same.
On the VW Beetle 1303 and VW Vanagon, there are several light switches using the same fitting, but of different lengths to facilitate bulb changes. Unfortunately, Volkswagen documentation does not indicate exactly when a short or long fitting was used. If you have a switch with a short fitting, you may want to consider replacing it with a longer fitting.
If bulbs are not included, they can be found in the "options" tab.
Note: The fittings listed here are identical to the original, as they have rounded contacts. Don't be tempted by other reproductions with sharp contacts that will irreparably damage the film.
