Product description
“Albert” was an accessory manufacturer in the 1950s and 1960s. As the Volkswagen Beetle was such a common sight on the roads at the time, a wide range of accessories was also available for it. One of the most striking accessories was the so-called “Swan Neck mirrors”. These mirrors were mounted at the front of the trim strip on the front wings and were especially popular in Scandinavia.
Original Albert mirrors in good condition are now rare and expensive. For anyone looking for the appearance of the original without having to pay the corresponding price, this reproduction is an attractive alternative that closely follows the original design.
The Swan Neck mirrors are mounted at the front of the wide trim strip and are therefore intended for Beetles with the wide trim strips, as originally used up to 7.1966.
The mirror glass is spring-mounted to reduce vibrations while driving as much as possible. However, do not expect the visibility and stability of a modern exterior mirror; an Albert-style Swan Neck mirror is fitted mainly for its distinctive classic appearance, although its forward-mounted position also provides some additional visibility alongside the car.
The seals between the mirror base and the body are made of transparent plastic, so there is no distracting black edge visible around the mirror base.
