Product description
If you can no longer rely on the fuel gauge, or if it constantly indicates ‘full’ or ‘empty’, the fuel tank sender may need to be replaced. The sender is mounted on top of the fuel tank.
Before replacing it, first check whether the fuel gauge itself is still working correctly. Hold the connecting wire against earth; the gauge should then move to its maximum position. If the gauge responds correctly, the problem is most likely with the fuel tank sender. Repair is not possible, so replacement is the only solution.
Please note:
This fuel tank sender is available in A- and B-quality. The A-quality version is closest to the original Volkswagen design and offers the best accuracy, reliability and service life. Due to the substantial price difference, the B-quality version is an attractive alternative when budget is an important consideration. With this version, however, the reading may be less accurate and the service life may be shorter. We therefore cannot provide any guarantee regarding the accuracy or service life of the B-quality version.
For a fuel tank sender that comes as close as possible to the original in terms of operation and durability, choose the A-quality version. If you are primarily looking for an economical solution and accept the possible limitations, the B-quality version may be a suitable choice.
