Volkswagen Split Buses with standard Safari windows were not ordered new in our climate. Volkswagen has offered this option for the most luxurious VW Buses. These Safari windows were particularly popular in hot regions as an alternative to air conditioning.

Mounting Safari windows makes your fixed windscreens expandable, giving you a cool breeze during the hot summer months, although today most of them are mounted as an aesthetic upgrade.

You can choose between a black primed aluminium window frame that can be painted in any colour and a luxury version in bright polished stainless steel. These two versions are delivered in different ways, here is an overview of the content:

matt black prime paint aluminium version

- two glass panes with frames and rubbers (not pre-mounted)
- four polished stainless steel extenders
- four stainless steel latches and lock brackets
- two body rubbers
- wiper shaft rubber
- two stainless steel wiper shaft adapters
- all mounting hardware required

Note: For the years 4.1955 to 7.1964, additionally order the correct wiper shaft adapters (shown under the Options tab); the adapters supplied are for the years 8.1964 to 7.1967 only. Identical in finish and fit to the original, this kit is among the best safari kit on the market.

polished stainless steel version

- two hinged stainless steel windscreen frames with mounted glazing
- four chrome-plated and mounted extenders
- four chrome-plated locking latches and lock brackets
- two body rubbers
- all necessary mounting hardware

Note: The following options must be ordered separately to be complete: 2 wiper shaft adapters and a wiper shaft rubber which are listed under the options tab. This set is qualitatively on a lower level than the black primed aluminum version. The difference is mainly in the solidity and finish, which also makes this set a lot more budget friendly.
