Product description
A properly functioning sliding door hinge ensures that the sliding door opens and closes smoothly, securely and without unwanted play. If the existing hinge is worn or damaged, replacing it with a complete new hinge is the quickest and easiest solution.
This sliding door hinge is available in two quality grades. The A-quality version is an original Volkswagen part and is distinguished by its robust construction, accurate fit and long service life. The B-quality version is a considerably less expensive reproduction, but its construction is less robust. Experience has shown that on this version, the pin on which the metal wheel is mounted can break prematurely. The substantial price difference between the two versions therefore also reflects the difference in construction, reliability and service life.
When durability and reliability are the main priorities, the original A-quality version is the best choice. If this version is beyond your budget and you prefer not to install the B-quality version, it may be possible to repair your existing hinge using the separately available parts. These parts are listed, when available, under the ‘Replacement parts’ tab.
