Exploded views
An exploded view is a technical drawing or diagram that shows the different parts of an assembly separated (or “exploded”) from each other. The parts are spaced apart to illustrate how they fit together, but are not physically connected to each other. Exploded views were available from Volkswagen in microfiche format, and then in printed book form from the early 1970s onwards.
