Product description
The coil springs of the Volkswagen T3 Combi are located at the rear between the body and the wishbone. To prevent lateral noise during compression and rebound, a damping ring is fitted between the spring and the body/ wishbone, above and below the spring.
These rubbers follow the contours of the spring, helping to prevent displacement. In addition, the damping rings protect the suspension from paint damage. When paint is damaged, rust can develop, eventually affecting spring performance.
Do you hear side-to-side noises during compression or rebound? If so, check that the damping rings are still present. Chances are they are missing or (partially) damaged.
