Behind the pedals is the bulkhead, which is welded between the heating channels. Especially at the ends of the heating channels, this part rusts quickly, partly because this part is double (inner and outer part); moisture has the potential to cause rust damage. It is therefore advisable to provide this hollow area with an coating (see options) and to repeat this regularly. The partition is supplied as a complete piece with an outer and an inner part, which replaces the original. With the 1200, 1300 and 1500 VW Beetles, Volkswagen has used different partitions over the years. So it may be that this partition differs slightly from the current shape, but for all these models and all these years, it is good to use.
