Leaks in the windshield washer or headlamp washer system are not always to be found in the engine fittings and/or filler pipe.
Due to the brittleness of plastic, the filler pipe itself may also have had its day. This is often the cause in aging VW buses, but front-end damage or loss during restoration is also a reason to replace or buy the filler neck. You'll find the connection eyelet in the tank in the "options" tab.
