Product description
On all Waterboxer engines, there is an aluminium gasket between the cylinder head and the cylinder next to a rubber seal (which is placed around the cylinder).
This is not an adjusting ring, but a gasket that should never be reused. The gasket takes the shape of the cylinder head and cylinder sleeve, creating a gas-tight seal. Unfortunately, it still happens regularly that engine gaskets are reused. This is a bad economy, so never do that!
If you are working on an engine overhaul, it is advisable to purchase a set of engine gaskets (indicated on the alternatives tab). This provides you with virtually all the seals and retaining rings you need to get the job done and is much cheaper than buying each seal or retaining ring separately.
