Product description
In the beginning, Volkswagen certainly made a big distinction between passenger cars and utility Buses. A Volkswagen Bus had to be functional, without offering luxury and comfort, while the passenger car was more focused on comfort, although it was very sober compared to the competition.
The most luxurious passenger cars were equipped with armrests that also served as handles, while the standard VW Bus and the cheapest VW Beetles had to make do with a simple handle.
With the Volkswagen Bay Window Bus there was still a difference in the end caps, until the 1969 model year they were chrome plated and in the following years with black end caps, they remained chrome plated only for the Microbus Deluxe.
With the arrival of the VW Vanagon, simplicity was restored, and only a choice of color was available, depending on whether the interior was brown or black.
