On Volkswagen Beetle 1303 models, the radio is enclosed in a plastic frame, which is cracked or completely missing on many cars.
Cracks mainly occur when the car radio is inadvertently removed from the frame. There are also owners who have enlarged the frame to fit a DIN-size or larger car radio, when you may wish to fit a car radio from the year of manufacture of your Volkswagen that doesn't yet match the standard DIN size.
This new frame can accommodate both the old car radio size (up to 40 x 180 mm) and the DIN size (50 x 180 mm). If you decide to install a DIN-sized car radio, you'll need to remove the frame's raised baffles.
