A radio has always been an additional option for Volkswagen, but most models have been prepared to accept a radio. The radio's location was closed with a separate shielding panel. In most VWs, this panel has been removed to make way for the radio.
If you don't want a radio or if you have mounted it out of sight, here is the panel that is the same as the one your Volkswagen left the factory with at the time.
If you wish to install a trim on this cover plate, as was the case for export models of the VW Beetle from model years 1958 to 1967, clips with trim are listed in the options tab.
