Product description
Sudden engagement of the clutch disc despite a correctly adjusted clutch is often due to a worn pressure plate. A rattling noise when disconnecting can also be the cause. When replacing the pressure unit, the release bearing often has to be replaced and it is also advisable to replace the clutch plate immediately, then you can be sure that the whole system is working properly.
All pressure plates are equipped with pressure fingers (diaphragm), it is quite possible that your old pressure group has a different look (equipped with pressure arms), this is not a problem if the diameter and the presence or absence of a slip ring are correct. Diaphragm pressure units are more modern and assemble more uniformly than older pressure arm types. Do not forget to tighten the screws of the pressure unit crosswise to the correct torque, consult your workshop manual.
The indicated size is the diameter of the pressure plate, check it before ordering, it can happen that your complete flywheel or engine has been replaced by another type, by measuring the pressure plate or clutch plate you are sure to order the right one. The pressure unit is provided at the factory with a corrosion protection layer, only the pressure plate needs to be greased in order to keep the rest protected against corrosion.
Note: Separate pressure groups are not available for each year of manufacture or VW model, in which case they are only available in a clutch assembly (release bearing, clutch plate and pressure group).
