Product description
The air-cooled engine is shut off from the outside to ensure that no hot air can be drawn in from the exhaust system.
The front engine cover plate shown here is located on the back of the car (this is the invisible side when you open the engine lid, side of the gearbox). It has holes for the fuel line and for the oil cooler if present. This sheet can only be replaced with the engine removed, so don't forget to mount this sheet onto the sheet that covers the cylinders before the engine is placed in your VW.
With the Volkswagen Buses from 8.1971 and later the side metal sheets are also included, the engine space for these models is bigger to prepare for the arrival of the Type 4 engines, they are a lot bigger.
For the Volkswagen Beetle and VW Thing, these cover plates are available in chrome as well as in the original black model. In combination with all other available chrome sheet metal parts, you can equip your engine completely with a chrome finish.
