Product description
The T2 Split was originally equipped with an exterior mirror with an aluminium rear housing. This material is relatively vulnerable, which is why very few original mirrors have survived over the years without dents or other damage.
The mirror listed here is made from chrome-plated stainless steel. This differs from the original in terms of material, but it is considerably more resistant to weathering and much less susceptible to dents and other damage. Just like the original mirror, the mounting point is positioned centrally on the rear.
The mirror is supplied including a mounting clamp that is also made from stainless steel.
If you prefer a mirror with the mounting point positioned off-centre, allowing the mirror to be adjusted over a wider range, see the Alternatives tab. You will also find the original-style model there with a matt aluminium rear housing, for those who want a mirror that comes as close as possible to the original in terms of material and appearance.
Maintenance: Only use chrome cleaner for cleaning and polishing. Do not use stainless steel cleaner on chrome-plated parts, including chrome-plated stainless steel, as it may damage the chrome finish.
